Lindsay Lohan is young, though it might be easy to forget that fact. After all, she's been making headlines for so many years, it seems like she should be well into middle-age by now. Not so: She's 25 years old. Most of you probably knew that, right? Why on earth would I feel the need to remind you?

Because LiLo looks nearly twice her age in recent photographs. Maybe the lighting for the pics was all wrong...maybe. I don't think so, though. I think all the crazy partying Lindsay's been doing for years has finally caught up with her.Lindsay Lohan put in a red carpet appearance at last night's glitzy amFAR Gala in New York City. I did a double take when I saw some of the photos (and I bet you will too). She really looks bad - and not in a 'stumbling out of a bar at 2 a.m. kind of way.' No, this is the kind of bad that starlets throughout Hollyweird find terrifying: She looks old. Very old. As in, much, much older than 25.

Take a look for yourself at these photos in the Daily Mail. See? I wasn't kidding. I mentioned the lighting - maybe that was the problem. But if that was the case, why did everyone else walking that same red carpet look perfectly normal? Maybe it was the dress: Stark white isn't always flattering, especially if you've already got a really fair skin tone. Maybe it was the dress AND the platinum hair (girl really needs a trim, those bangs look scraggly, not fashionably shaggy). Maybe she needed a bit more lipstick and eyeliner to make her features 'pop,' so to speak.

Or maybe, just maybe, it's life catching up with her. Lindsay Lohan has put her body through a lot in her (relatively short) life. You can't ply your young body with drugs and drink continually over a period of years and not have some serious payback coming, physically and emotionally. We're starting to see the physical now, and it's ugly. Was it worth it, Lindsay?

Let's hope Lindsay isn't using again. Let's hope she's truly clean and sober - and happy. She looks pretty rough at the moment, but there's still plenty of time to turn everything around. In the meantime, LiLo needs a better stylist. Right now.
